Congratulations your teacher(s) see something special in your dancer! We would like to invite your dancer to audition for our 2020/2021 Competitive Dance Team.
If you or your dancer has any interest in being a member of The Team, we suggest you audition. Auditioning does not mean you are committing to our 2020/2021 Team. It allows us to know who is interested and help with our planning of the team.
We are sure you have many questions and hope to answer most of them below with our FAQs. Once you have read these FAQ’s if you still have questions, please reach out to us!

What is Dance Competition?
Competitive Dance is where dancers from studios all over come together to perform and celebrate dance. Dances are split into categories depending on ages, styles, and the number of dances in a piece of choreography. Dancers perform their piece of choreography and receive recorded feedback from adjudicators (judges) that we bring back to the studio, listen and watch, and apply their feedback.
At the Competition, dancers will receive recognition for their performance.
Ultimately competition is an additional chance for your dancer to perform onstage. They will what it is like to be a member of a team, how to push themselves to improve, build self-confidence and improve self-esteem.

What is the commitment?
The commitment all depends on which Team you and your dancer would like to join. We have a few teams that only rehearse once a week and others that rehearse 3-4 times a week. More details on this are available in the brochure. CLICK HERE to download.
We have a dress rehearsal in April, normally on a Friday evening.
There is also the commitment of attending competitions. We typically attend 3 competitions a year between March and May. We try to attend 2 local competitions (Peterborough, Belleville, Whitby, etc) and 1 away competitions (Niagara Falls, Nottawasaga). Our away competitions are always a fun time for dancers and parents

What about fundraising?
We do have a parent group that does fundraising. This group normally has a meeting within the first couple of months of classes to discuss what fundraising for that season will look like.
Belonging to a competitive dance team can bring joy and satisfaction to a child's life. Many enjoy the challenge of taking their skills to the next level, while being a part of a supportive team.
